3 Amazing Solutions You HAVE to Try

These three solutions are from Family Circle.com: 55 Ways to Clear Clutter. And they’re right on.

First one: “Make use of empty space in a bottom cabinet with a slide-out drawer for skillets and pots.” —Lori Marrero, creator of The Clutter Diet 23.

Everyone probably does this when they renovate their kitchen, but why wait? Seriously, it’ll change your life. Plus you can get custom ones for $75 and then pre-set sizes for $30-50. It makes lower deep cabinets much more useful (for pots & pans or food stuff). Measure the depth and width then hire a handyman to install (yes, even in a rental). If you’re a Classic, you’ll try to figure out how to install it yourself. Organics and Smarts, you’re going to love this solution as it’ll help you see everything in your cupboards and get to things ten times easier. No more buying more rice only to realize you had it in the first place, it was just behind the Cap’n Crunch.

Second one: ”Designate a laundry room bin for clothes that no longer fit. Once it’s full, donate the castoffs to charity.” — Jill Shank, cofounder of Mostly Organized Moms, Inc.

Great tip. Plus, I love the name of this gal’s business because it’s how I’d describe myself. I think we’ve mentioned this one before but it’s worth repeating and instead of the closet, this one is in the laundry room. Funs, Organic Freedoms & Smart Freedoms will have a little trouble getting the actual donating part done but since it’s in the laundry room, having the extra stuff around won’t be too annoying to the Classics, Smart Structures, or Organic Structures who might live with you.

In one of our clients’ home (an Organic Structure & a Smart Structure) tools don’t get put back right away, so they get misplaced or thrown into the a big bin, never to be found. This to me is a home run for all Organics and Smarts. The magnetic strip is open, visual and EASY to stash things in their proper place. Classics & Funs can try this too but chances are that putting tools away properly isn’t a problem for you.
