Unbeweavable — the What’s What in Clip-On Extensions
Seems like everywhere you look these days — especially in celebrity land — everyone has impossibly Rapunzel like luxurious long hair. Just so you know, it’s usually not real. And to do it in the salon takes beau coup bucks and major time. But there’s an easier way. One without all the upkeep and and a day-long time commitment. Clip in extensions have truly revolutionized the world of hair and can give you an instant make- over — whether you’re adding length, volume, or even some cute bangs — in about five minutes.
I’m a dreamer — in my head I think it would be the best thing in the world to be 110 pounds, have bouncy long blonde curls flowing down my back, oh and while we’re at it, living on the beach in California. But between dying and curling, my hair can get seriously fried, which kills the dream pretty quickly. But now with easy to use clip-in extensions I can at least have part of my dream in the form of long bouncy long curls (see photo left.)
Foxy Locks is a company that makes some of the best extensions out there, using 100% virgin human hair — top of the line stuff. The set comes with 10 numbered pieces so even beginners don’t have to fret.
I always like the idea of bangs, but at the end of the day they involve entirely too much upkeep. The way my hair is, if I don’t want to look ridiculous, I have to fix them before I go out, even if it’s just the corner deli. So when I get onto one of my “I want bangs” kicks, I can just clip in some of Jessica Simpson’s! These are so easy to clip-in and only cost $34 which is a price I’m willing to pay for an extra 15 minutes of sleep in the morning.
Maybe one day I’ll be beach side in California but for now I can sit in my NYC apartment with my clip in extensions. That clip in hair in the picture — Katie and Kelly agree — is pretty darn impressive.
We think it might take Classics a while to get on board the extension train, but while they’ve been around for many years, these new ones are easier to do yourself and perhaps it’s just the kind of vintage thing a Classic might like. What’s also great is the clip-ons are cheap enough for even frugal Funs to give them a try, especially with their adventurous side, and Organics and Smarts are always willing to try the newest best thing, except we think the Smarts might be the ones dropping the bucks and times in the salon as long as they — the ultimate multitaskers — can be reading, working, etc. while they’re getting coiffed.
