Dream Closets — Organic by Design

I thought today’s closets looked the most realistic since it’s tough for anyone to keep their closets picture perfect day in and day out. But, there are those who actually do it — Funs, most Classics and then some Smart Structures and Organic Structures. The closet in this photo screamed “ORGANIC!” to me for one reason. The bulletin board of photos and images that make them happy.

My mom, an Organic Sructure, has a plethora of photographs in every square inch of her house. In her words, she, “likes to be surrounded by (her) peeps because it makes (her) happy.” Organics of all stripes love when the objects that surround them have meaning. Some other things that would please all Organics about this Closet — Sally Perrin’s — would be the jewelry that’s out in the open — this way they don’t forget about it. There’s order and structure but not too much that it’s stifling. The clothes are not slavishly coordinated by color.

This next closet is Olivia Palermo’s and I’ve got to say this was the one that made me think, “Dream closet? Or my closet on a bad day??” BUT that would be the judgmental part of my Classic nature. Whenever something is the opposite of what I yearn for structure wise, I assume it’s something that an Organic Freedom might have — perhaps a Smart Freedom as well but they’re always just a bit more logical about things than Organic Freedoms. Therefore, I assume Smart Freedoms would feel compelled to keep things neater and more toned down. Right about now, Katie — my favorite Organic Freedom — is rolling her eyes after reading this paragraph.

The final Organic pick is Charlotte boutique owner, Laura Vinroot Poole’s closet. This one says Organic Structure to me because there’s a little more structure than Olivia Palermo’s but like the first photo, it’s not slavish to color coordination. There’s some jewelry in the open and photos and a painting of her peeps to surround her with warmth and happiness.
