Magic and Stars at Night
The first time I was away from the man who would become my husband was a long 10 days at the turn of the century. I played it by the “Rules” and only called him every other day until we both called each other at the same time and got a busy signal. I know, the olden days. While I was away from our new love bubble, my visionary Smart (NT) husband was busy getting me something logical and making me something magical. When I arrived on his doorstep on New Year’s Day, there was an outlet in his bathroom for a hairdryer and universe of glowing stars on the bedroom ceiling. Ever since then, every bedroom we or our children have called home has had stars on the ceiling. So when eldest got excited about these crafts for the new bedroom she’s about to have, well, I went all out getting all the “ingredients” together to make her the fairy glow jars her favorite Web star crafted. I’m also on the hook for a cloud light and pixie dust. Now that the honeymoon is over, magic comes at a price: a mother’s blood, sweat and tears.
