“You have actually made me think a lot about the ways we organize and habits. I’ve realized what a nut I am about digital organization. I want my desktop screen and email clean and I can’t stand to have notifications lingering on sites like LinkedIn. But when it comes to paper, I could care less. My husband begs me to open the mail, yet he keeps 6,000 emails in his inbox. I knew that working on projects around the house together is a disaster – I swear we almost got divorced trying build a stone walkway together – but I never thought about it in terms of personality.”
Kelly McMenamin from PixiesDidIt! has spoken and presented at several of our theNYnetwork meetings. The sharing of her knowledge was well received, educational, thought provoking, and entertaining! So much so that we have had her back many times as you can never be too organized.
Describing themselves as the Neat Pixie (Kelly McMenamin) and the Messy Pixie (Katie McMenamin), the authors of Organize Your Way, presented a lively program at our Bertram Woods Branch Library. While their lighthearted, engaging presentation was appealing it was also quite professionally delivered with many helpful suggestions for the organizationally-challenged among us. We were quite pleased with their presentation and happy to see a good number of attendees who came out to meet them on a busy Saturday afternoon. I highly recommended them.
Kelly and Katie were a wonderful speaking engagement for our office “Lunch and Learn”! Their opposite approach to organization was an inviting opportunity for our staff to learn how to best embrace the space we work in together. Kelly and Katie proved it’s possible to respect each other’s work space no matter how different your organizational styles can be. This is a crucial matter when working in our open office environment!
Thank you so much for your incredible work last week! I still am in awe of things like the pantry and how easy it is to get out my skillet. [My husband] has caught me just staring at the pantry…
I finally read your … book at the beginning of the summer. Truly life changing! I wondered why [my husband] could never shut the pantry door. It is because he is a Organic Freedom. I’m a Classic Freedom. I think this is the book I will give as a wedding gift going forward.
“I cannot praise PixiesDidIt!™ enough. I moved into a new apartment just weeks before giving birth to twins. By helping me cull, organize, and group, my closets became functional spaces that made the rest of my apartment cleaner and uncluttered. They added shelves and hooks and hat racks that made each space more clearly home to our multitude of stuff. Now I can actually find and use the things I need! They even found places to recycle all of the things I was getting rid of, so I could discard my junk guilt-free! I owe my newly organized life to the pixies!”
“My apartment looks like a catalogue!! My desk looks like Iraq. (The second phase in our apartment) I think it senses that it is in trouble and has been acting out. I can’t wait for Phase Two!”
“I am a designer by trade. So, surprise to me when PixiesDidIt!™ came to get an over view of my home. The pixies presented me with a document of recommendations, things to help the energy flow, my storing issues, the aesthetics and just general sense of a layout in a room or pantry. Truly I am a snob and can’t believe that anyone can do better than me, but I allowed them to enter my domain. Low and behold, my living room and pantry were transformed to my disbelief and shot to the ego. Transformed to the point that the next day my husband and daughter bought flowers to add to the living room. My husband and I enjoyed a rebirth of intimacy (I can’t figure out how a room can do that, but they have to do the bed room next!) and everyone that entered the room were astounded and asked why logically I never had things placed in their new homes like this prior. PixiesDidIt!™transformed a part of my world and my families world and we are simply reaping the benefits of their very professional work now.”
