Is That My Travel Mug?
I cannot tell you how many of my travel mugs I’ve lost over the years. They’re like socks in dryers. I just don’t know where they go. Maybe if I lived in a suburb, I’d keep travel mugs in my car all of the time and wouldn’t have abandoned so many. My newest solution to this vexxing problem is to monogram them so that when I do forget one whoever co-opts my mug will feel like an idiot drinking out of it and feel compelled to return it. (Um, that would be Katie!!)
As a Classic, it’s uncharacteristic of my personality type to be so forgetful. I’m better than that! But, it happens no matter how hard I try. The idea to monogram all of my mugs came to me when I lost one that was subtly engraved with my initials. As a result of said engraving, my friend told me I’d left it at her office. I now know for the first time who is holding my mug hostage. Therefore, there’s a minute chance I might get it back one day from my friend, Kimberly. But, it’s so subtle, Kimberly can probably drink out of it without anyone really noticing it’s not her initials. I think I would’ve gotten it back sooner had it been obnoxiously monogrammed in a bright bold color.
I found this website — Girly Twirly Gift Company — that at first glance might seem to you as if it’s mean for 12 year old girls. It’s not. I was even going to make a joke about their name but then I realized that someone who names her own company PixiesDidIt! and has flying pixies all over her website shouldn’t exactly be throwing stones, even in jest. Plus, it’s a great site. They have a huge collection of neat gifts and tons of customizable gift ideas — even a 1950s style neck scarf — all at reasonable prices. AND they have a wide variety of travel mugs.
There are a couple of really bright monogrammed mugs and then a few more subtle ones. They all retail for about $20. Don’t let someone co-opt your travel mug ever again. Guard yourself from what I think could likely be the most common form of theft plaguing this great nation of ours. Visit www.girlytwirly.com today!
So we know that Classics will love this idea. But we think that Funs could also get behind the practicality, and Organic Freedoms and Smart Freedoms are ALWAYS misplacing things, so its a good gift idea for them. Organic Structures and Smart Structures probably don’t need this, but I’ll bet they appreciate the gesture.
