Yes, Your Bra Probably Doesn’t Fit!
Stylist Lani Inlander guest writes this week’s PixieTips.
Every woman should get professionally fitted for their bras. Not once in their lifetime as a rite of passage, but regularly. And no, Victoria’s Secret doesn’t count. You need to go to a place that specializes in bra fittings and sells the product to back it up. In my humble opinion, Town Shop is the absolute best place for this. It is worth a trip to New York City. Established in 1888, they’ve had over 100 years to perfect the art of the bra fitting.
We’ve all heard the statistics quoted about how many women are wearing the wrong bra size. What most don’t realize is JUST HOW WRONG they are. How about the client who thought she was a 34B but was really a 32D? Or the most extreme, someone who thought they were a 40A but walked out in a 34DD. A proper bra fitting teaches you how a bra is supposed to fit and that you might be two different sizes in two different brands.
The right bra can not only take 10 pounds off you instantly but also solve back problems and make your clothes fit better. The best part? It doesn’t cost anymore than if you had walked into a department store and picked up your (supposed) size off the rack. Of course a store with professional fitters is going to carry a higher end product, but you’ll soon realize these bras cost the same as lesser ones as they last twice as long.
