Gourmet Grilled Cheese and Leftover Faith
We only made Becca write four PixieTips this week because she was off to Paris for New Year’s, so here’s our best suggestion for an easy Friday dinner that we recently feasted upon at one of our Perkins-McMenamin Cleveland Browns football watching Sunday afternoons.
The best way to jazz up any meal is to use fancy cheese and fancy bread. So head on off to Whole Foods, a Farmer’s market or even your local grocer and get a good nutty or grainy bread. Get a different kind of cheese like gruyere or a nice sharp cheddar or be adventurous and try something new. Even your local grocery store will often have a cheese section and will let you try them out before you buy. While you’re there get some Irish butter and when you get home, fry those sandwiches all up in a pan.
- Gruyere or sharp cheddar
- Nutty, Oat, or 7 grain bread
- Irish Butter (why? Because it’s just better.)
Then, reheat some of that leftover Pumpkin soup, or the Turkey chili, and voila, you too can be having the best part of the most recent devastating Browns and Ravens game — Becca Perkins McMenamin’s easy gourmet cooking. Play some Wii with your nieces afterwards and gossip with your sister-in-laws and you’ve got the complete McMenamin Browns Sunday faith experience. Sigh. We will always have next Fall. We will always believe.
Go Browns 2011!
