Classics are kind of easy to please because you can give them almost anything as long as it has a monogram or initials. The logic behind our gift giving for Classics is that initials turn the ordinary into something a bit fancier, a bit more traditional and almost all Classics at their core are traditional even when fashionable and trendy.

Our first item from Nico & Lala is a great example of making something ordinary, extraordinary with an initial. Admittedly almost everyone living independently likely already has a set of salt & pepper shakers but I guarantee as long as you get a color that coordinates with their plates, a Classic will ditch whatever they’re using in favor of these shakers, $35.

Our second idea is a wallet, the Gigi Wallet from deuxlux.com, $49. I know, I know. Wallet? Boring gift with a capital B. But, this wallet is pink with gold polka dots so it’s got that je ne sais quoi level of quirkiness without being TOO funky for a Classic. Plus, Classics are the most likely to keep their wallet unstuffed enough to functionally use the zipper. I’d say Funs might appreciate this wallet as well. Organic Structures are also an option for this wallet but they might end up overstuffing.

Last but not least is a letter opener. It’s another practical gift but a Classic is likely so practical they’ll never buy themselves an additional mail opener and are not likely to buy an attractive one. BUT, this doesn’t mean they will not gleefully enjoy this toad letter opener from Michele Varian, $40.

One last tip for buying Classics gifts. Never go off the reservation for them, you’ll regret trying to push their boundaries.
