Diapers and Soap
Today’s PixieTip is a two-for-one. Diapers.com and Soap.com. Your basic consumer products delivered to you overnight — or 2 days — without shipping fees or the hassle of a store. Both were founded by two dads from Montclair, NJ, Marc Lore and Vinit Bharara, who clearly got stuck with one too many a midnight run for diapers to overpriced convenience stores. They wanted to find an easier — and cheaper — way to stock up on diapers and voila, we now have Diapers.com, the largest online baby care specialty site in the United States. And now we also have Soap.com, their latest creation designed to make everyone’s lives easier.
Diapers.com offers everything you need for a baby, everything! Its mission?
To offer the lowest prices moms (and dads!) will find online, along with the convenience of fast, free shipping and the best customer service around. Standing behind this mission, Diapers.com makes it easy for customers to contact them by phone or email – the company name says it all.
Although you’d think that this website would have been started by frustrated moms — I’m not surprised that it was two dads. My husband — a very detail, planning oriented Classic Freedom — is the one who discovered and orders from the website. He, ahem, a believer in bulk never wants to run out of diapers nor pay full price. I am more mellow due to lots of exposure to my Organic Freedom sister. I figure if you run out every once in a while and pay full price for a few, $20-50 over a life time isn’t going to break the bank. Having said that, it’s a heck of a lot more convenient and easy to order things online plus I loathe shopping with my son.
The Soap.com website looks like a pretty similar concept to Alice.com. Consumer products delivered to you without shipping charges. Bypass the store and collect ecoupons with ease. The overnight shipping aspect is great for busy people no matter what your personality type but particularly good for the Funs, Organic Freedoms and Smart Freedoms who don’t obsessively plan as much as Classics, Organic Structures and Smart Structures do. The best part is that the websites are linked so that you can put stuff in a cart in both places and do one checkout.
