Do You Make Your Bed in the Morning?
What do you see when you look at the image to the left? Do you see a piece of art or are you itching to make that bed?Listen, it’s not like I don’t appreciate a nicely made bed to climb into at the end of a long day, but the effort involved in doing that in the morning? Yeah, not so much. And of course, a nicely crisp made bed does fill me with a sense of peace. All organized and clean spaces tend to do that for most types. But do I need to have my bed made in the morning to have a successful, productive and enjoyable day? No way man. But it would drive my sister crazy.
Making my bed has always been a chore. Even after I got a duvet and duvet cover and ditched my top sheet, I still rebel. I just don’t care that much until I want to go to sleep. It’s a boring routine that I have never got in the habit of doing as even though I might feel good about myself for a few days or weeks that I pull the new routine off, there’s just not enough reward for my brain to keep it up. Usually? If my bed is a serious mess I just make it before I go to sleep. Necessity is a very different motivator.
We suspect there’s not a Classic around who wouldn’t be made uncomfortable by this piece of art, wishing they could somehow get out her paint brushes and paint a made bed. Organic Structures and Smart Structures will be able to appreciate the art, but their own beds will probably be made, just not up to the exacting standards of your Classics. Funs will do it if they’ve already gotten into the habit, or they do it the minute they see the messy bed and it bugs them. Organic Freedoms and Smart Freedoms are always a toss up. But they’re the ones more likely not to make their bed each mornining unless they have hired someone else to do it. Ah, it always comes back to Downton Abbey doesn’t it?
