Don’t Skip a Meal, Have a Protein Shake

Our dad’s secret to staying trim is that he skips lunch and exercises amazing portion control when eating. I don’t know how he does it. He’s a Smart Structure so maybe it’s something you all have in you that I don’t. But, I’m positive most nutritionists would advise against the meal abstinence part of his routine. But whenever I have a protein shake for breakfast or lunch in lieu of a meal, it’s always goodbye extra pounds.

I tend to just head to Whole Foods and get whatever house brand whey protein shakes they have on hand — obviously this is the practical, get-it-done side of my Classic personality. But, when writing this tip, I remembered Lani Inlander (our favorite style consultant from Real.Life.Style) loved Shaklee’s Vanilla Shake Mix. She heard about it through Diana Matlz, Health Consultant and Shaklee distributor, and said it kinda tasted like yellow cake batter. Now, I haven’t tasted it myself (or the other flavors) but I’d buy it sight unseen based on that recommendation!

I think Lani puts a frozen banana in her shake, which is a brilliant way to get yet another serving quickly into your diet. I use milk in mine but just as with the fruit shake, you could do a bunch of different combinations that fit your diet preferences … soy milk, rice milk (regular or whole grain), almond milk, etc. etc. Cheers!
