Epionce is an Epicure
My New Favorite New Skin Cleanser
Okay I guess Epionce can’t be an epicure. But I am an epicure, at least when it comes to my face and skin, and I’ve got to give it to Epionce. It. Is. The bomb. Why am I, a self-described, messy, lazy writer, an epicure of face products? Or in other words, what makes me, an Organic Freedom, even more detail oriented than my Classic Freedom sister? Two words: bad skin. And I am crazy vain when it comes to my face.
I Have Very Sensitive, Very Red Skin
I could have tons of scars all over my body (and kind of do) and still think I look good, but the slightest blemish on my face and I’m 15 years old again with all the emotional weight that this age configures. I supposed I should have stayed in therapy more than eight years. Anyway because of this, I stick with whatever works for as long as it works. And at 15 my dermatologist told me to “wash” my face with Cetaphil lotion and not use water.
That’s what I did for 10 years, even after the worst of the acne had worn off and I didn’t have to use Benzoyl Peroxide or Retin-A anymore. (Although I do think that any youth I have retained in my face is probably due to that decade of Retin-A.) Around the age of 25 I started getting a new crop of red bumps in the t-zone, but these ones never had white heads. So I went back to a dermatologist and was told I had rosacea.
Rosacea Is Not Just Red Skin
I have to correct my sister on rosacea. She’s not wrong, but for many of us, it is not just red skin. Red skin happens eventually to anyone who has white skin when they get older, but true rosacea is an inflammatory condition where your red blood vessels get broken and make your skin look red. Untreated it leads to red bumps and misshapen noses. It’s what’s behind the stereotypical red nosed drunks. Usually it’s hits people who have very sensitive and fair skin. Anyone who has some Celt blood in them is susceptible. And 25 is young to get it.
I was given Metro Gel and then Finacea and underwent extremely painful electrical zaps to the most sensitive parts of my face — my nose and cheeks. It helped. My face got better and I stuck with my Cetaphil lotion. Fast forward 20 years my skin started freaking out after a hysterectomy It was terrifying losing my womanhood and getting a 15 year old acne face again. Back to the dermatologist who gave me a new face wash — alpha hydroxy based, and laser treatments.
I Rarely Use New Products
I am wary of using anything new. Too many peeling and painful red faces. But I had already stepped down from my $50 dollar dermatologist brand to Neutrogena’s Apha Hydroxy cleanser and the Rite Aid brand with no bad news, so I was ready to try something new. I didn’t like how it was impossible to get a small amount with all of these cIeansers, so I was so excited at how one pump of Epionce was not only doable, but the optimum amount to use. It will make it’s $36 price tag go a long way. Definitely longer than the Neutrogena, perhaps three times as long which would make the $36 dollars a steal for such a great product.
I had my sensitive 13 year old daughter test Epionce too. And it’s her beautiful face you see here in the pictures. She remarked right away that it made her skin “so smooth”. I didn’t have anything as dramatic happen to me as happened to Kelly, but perhaps I miss these details. I’ve also been dealing with Rosacea for 20 years, so it might take longer to see if it calms down some of my redness. I started out using it every other day because of my sensitive skin, but was fine going to every day.
My Skin Looks and Feels Fantastic
My skin is not redder or peeling like with some cleansers, and my skin is definitely softer. I did put on make up the other day and thought I looked extra good for some reason. Perhaps it is due to Epionce? I can only see it’s effect when I’ve toned down my bane of redness. This product is staying and it’s affordable for how long it lasts. My sister’s article actually made my mom go out and buy it. So if you’re not convinced here, then read about my sister’s experience here with Epionce.
