One of my favorite Classic Structures introduced me to Fit N Fresh. They sell plastic containers that store your portable food in really cool and ingenious ways. While this might be a product best used and cared for by Classics and Organic Structures, their stuff is so ingenious that Smarts will be instantly enthralled as well as those dreaming Organic Freedoms, whereas the on-the-go Funs will nonchalantly say, “This is so useful. Thanks.” I think it’s safe to say, everybody will want to upgrade their lunch AND its equipment with Fit N Fresh!

They have every imaginable combination of plastic box and ice packs to temporarily house your sandwich or veggies/fruit and dip. They even have this cool shake chiller that keeps your milk chilled separate from your shake powder until you put ’em together and then blend it — all in the same container. Pictured to the right. Pretty, cool, huh?

But, what really caught my eye was their cereal bowl/ring thingee with a collapsible spoon pictured above. My idea of cereal on the go is leftover from Girl Scouts circa 1981 when we’d take those mini cereal boxes, trace a large letter “I” into the cardboard top with our swiss army knives, pry it open and then pour in milk into the box. I guess the waxed paper of the internal bag kept the milk from seeping through the cardboard. Apparently in 30 years, someone has thought of a more efficient system — the BREAKFAST CHILLER.

It holds about 1 1/2 cups of cereal or granola and has a reusable folding spoon that snaps into the lid. Then the middle container holds up to one cup of milk or yogurt where there’s a removable ice ring that surrounds the milk or yogurt and stays on top of fruit, which is in the bottom bowl. The latter up to 3/4 cup of your favorite fruit and keeps it chilled until mealtime.

Now, on to why I said that Classics and Organic Structures would keep the best care of Fit N Fresh’s products. It’s purely because there are lots of small parts that can easily be lost and then there’s always the routine aspect of bringing lunch to school or work. The less routine/structure loving types — Funs, Organic Freedoms and Smart Freedoms — might get bored bringing and washing this equipment every day. And then there’s the risk of forgetting it at school or work. My Organic Freedom brother once lost his entire backpack at school. Yes, the entire thing. I think his winter coat too once. Sorry, Paddy.
