Fotobet
I can’t remember who told me about Fotobet, maybe KatieEbner, Organic Structure? Fotobet creates framed photos of buildings and other architectural designs to spell out words and names. As a picture tells a thousand words, the product photo does more justice to it than my description. Seems the perfect gift for a Classic or an Organic or maybe even a Fun. But, I was just told by an Organic Freedom she’d never, ever have this in her house … so maybe just the Classics and Funs in your life.
As a practical Classic, I don’t think this is something I would purchase for myself even if I’d secretly love a “Kelly” version to hang near my desk. It’s something I would incorporate in a group of photos on a wall, in a kids room or in a bathroom. Not that it’s bathroom art per se — my personal short hand for not up to snuff for the rest of the house. It’s just that some of the alphabet photo choices are of things like the John Lennon “Imagine” mosaic in Central Park for the letter “O,” which I see for sale every day at street vendor tables.
They come in three sizes: Original, Jr., and Mini and they use “the finest in conservation quality materials so you can be confident your gift will withstand the test of time.” The actual size of each depends on the word or name you’re using but pricing is about $200, $100, $30, respectively. You can do the photos in color, black & white, or sepia and then choose the matting and frame.
To me it screams baby gift or “Congrats on your new home” gift or even a wedding gift if the registry is barren by the time you get to purchasing a gift and need a unique idea. I’m thinking it’s a gift for a Classic, Organic and perhaps Fun. I’m guessing Smarts will think it too “cutesy.” But please, Smarts out there, let me know if I’m wrong!
