Fun Vintage Style with Today’s Accessories
I wasn’t sold on Funs (SPs) having the “Vintage” style, but that’s because secretly I want to BE a Fun, so I’m truly just jealous. I love vintage style but don’t have the wherewithal or the style sense to sniff out the true bargains, find the good thrift stores and pull off the look. So I love when I can see a vintage outfit updated like this. But the problem with any retro look is if you go TOO completely back in time.
“The trick is not to be so literal—you don’t want to look as if you just walked off the set of Mad Men. Contrast “old” (estate jewelry, a Peter Pan collar shirts, and Mary Janes) with “new” (a glitzy loose dress, a cross-body bag, and a wraparound belt.)”
I don’t know if I could pull this look off! And I guess I’m not supposed to. But if Funs are into fashion then they’re the ones who will be almost intuitively able to cobble this look together and make it work. The key — the same as it is with other types pushing preferences — is to contrast your comfort zone with a few of today’s trends. Funs are probably the most adventuresome dressers, as long as they don’t deem it too impractical, so it should be relatively easy for them to mix and match.
