Hire Someone to Help You, Duh!
This may seem obvious to some but if you’ve hit a plateau with your weight loss or fitness goal — or any type of goal for that matter — consider hiring someone to help you break through that barrier. For some reason, we are all willing to plop down cash to purchase a physical object but are often hesitant to do the same for a service. Today’s tip is about why to reconsider this hesitation.
If fitness is your goal, a personal trainer is an amazing motivator for all types. Plus, they develop individualized plans based on your needs and because you’re paying them for results, the workouts are likely to be a lot more efficient than what you might do on your own. The latter is something I’ve found to be true. I always internally laugh at my husband when he finishes his 1 1/2 hour workouts as I get mine done with my trainer in half that time and I never fail to ache the next day. I also find trainers break you through plateaus like nobody’s business. If age is your worry — you’re never too old for a personal trainer because they also help you work out safely. Just ask my 92 year old grandfather.
If nutrition is your problem, consider working with a nutritionist to develop an individual plan that works with your quirky habits, likes and dislikes. There are nutritionists out there who are also almost like food therapists. Why do we do purchase zillions of diet books in our lifetimes instead of going to a nutritionist and learning how to eat properly within our own personal parameters and get motivation to keep on keeping on? Oh and life goals … life and career coaches are not some weird new age thing anymore. Lots of normal CEOs and other stuffy individuals — myself included — have used them and opened entire new vistas and opportunities. PixiesDidIt! wouldn’t be alive today if I hadn’t visited Stephen Carr, career coach extraordinare.
Organic Freedoms and Smart Freedoms might have the easiest time hiring someone to help them. Classics, Funs & Organic Structures would have to get over the initial barrier spending money. Smart Structures would have to get over taking advice from someone else so if you’re a Smart Structure, do your research and find the gold standard in the professional you are seeking — you will listen to nobody of lesser stature.
While you can do a Google search for all of these professions, you’re better off getting a referral from a friend so start asking around.
