Immortal Color

Here’s Katie’s best beauty secret. Immortal color. You never have to worry about running out of your favorite shade of lipstick or nail enamel ever again. Giella can recreate any color you throw her way. All you have to do is send her the remains of your favorite and she will send it back with a brand new copy. Voila. It’s truly a miracle.

But it’s a lot more fun to go down to Henri Bendel and see her do it in person. Watching her put powders and cremes in her make up mixer is a bit like watching a mad scientist at work, but oh what alchemy she creates. I love that I have a lipstick shade that she made for me, and me only, on my wedding day. She can recreate your favorite lip color or nail polish, and y’know maybe improve it a little (only if you want) with some gold shimmer or a better moisturizer, or a chocolate scent. And it’s no more than you’d pay for any other makeup at Bendels.

Giella is also pretty amazing at shaping your brows (lots of compliments on those!) and really good about getting you to try new things. My favorite lipstick (an orangey coral) and favorite eye shadow (a shimmery deep blue with golden undertones, fantastic!) are from her, and she showed me how to use her eyeshadow and a brush to give myself a liquid eyeliner look.
