I have a thing for jars. I don’t know why but they just really do it for me. In today’s tip, I share some fun ways to reuse jars as well as showcase my outlandish love of jars. These DIY projects are so easy, a Smart Structure could do them — sorry! Couldn’t resist.

For the first DIY project, take a Mason jar and turn it into a unique soap dispenser that will look great in any kitchen or bathroom. It takes a little handy work — seriously only a drill is required — but it’s well worth it for this shabby chic piece. First, reuse an old soap dispenser pump and then drill a hole in the center of the jar’s lid large enough to fit the pump’s tube and that’s it. You’ve got your very own Mason jar soap jar! Okay so maybe you need more than a drill. Apartment Therapy featured this DIY idea too and they recommend securing the pump with epoxy glue — probably not a bad idea. Style wise this probably leans Organic but a few nostalgic Classics and Funs could dig it. I’d imagine Smarts could too but perhaps if it was gifted?

Now for an even easier project: A jar of ingredients. This one is perfect for a housewarming party or a hostess gift. It’s the perfect gift — give them a gift of a recipe and they will have it forever! A glass milk bottle would work wonderfully for this project — you can usually find glass milk bottles at Whole Foods — and then all you need to buy is all of the dry ingredients that the recipe calls for. Maybe throw on a ribbon to dress it up and you’re done. Kelly received one as a bridal shower gift from a very creative Organic Freedom and loved it.
