Mittens & Kleenex
If you’re wondering what mittens and Kleenex have to do with one another, the answer is nothing whatsoever. I just couldn’t decide which Real Simple to finish with this week so I combined two ideas into one. The mitten idea had me laughing because I know it’s something an Organic (NF) might do in a pinch.
Put off-duty winter mittens to work as protection for summer shades.
I also know it would be a really, really bad idea for an Organic Freedom (NFP) to do with one of their favorite mittens because come winter time … that mitten is likely to be long lost or misplaced. Then you’ll be left with one very cold hand and sunglasses that might or might not have been crushed in the bottom of your purse during the summer. As for the Kleenex idea, it’s a way to reign in those plastic bag savers in your life.
But, first let’s finish up with the mitten. I can’t see a single Smart (NT) ever putting a mitten like this over their sunglasses. The mittens themselves are way too funky and colorful. I could perhaps see Funs (SP) doing it in a pinch as well. But they do like the finer things so I’d imagine it would be just for a short spell to ensure no scratched lenses while they purchased a new glasses case. Maybe I could see a Classic Structure (STJ) doing this in a pinch because they wouldn’t care what other people thought of them and they’re good penny pinchers. But, a Classic Freedom (SFJ) would likely be way too self conscious. As an introverted Classic Freedom if I were in a meeting and somebody whipped out their mitten glass case mid-July I would most definitely internally judge them as a bit odd.
Now on to the Kleenex box idea from Real Simple:
Forget unruly plastic bags that seemingly regenerate under your sink. An empty tissue box keeps them neatly corralled and ready for use.
At first I was going to dismiss this idea as silly because organization retailers sell so many sturdy attractive bag containers why would anyone keep a cardboard Kleenex box. But then I though of all of the people who use plastic bags to hold other plastic bags — or no container at all — and then I thought, “Heck a Kleenex box is a lot more compact of storage space for those bags than another plastic bag.” This way you can limit how many plastic bags you keep on hand to one or two Kleenex boxes. You could even coordinate the Kleenex box to go with your kitchen or pantry. Also, it would hide the ugliness that IS a plastic bag. This is a good universal tip becauseI see PBS, plastic bag syndrome — plastic bags shoved beyond max holding capacity oozing out under sinks, in pantries, and fridges — in everyone’s homes.
