Paintable Dry Erase Boards
I remember trying to perfect my chalkboard handwriting in grade school to be more like my teacher’s neat cursive. But, when I failed to improve from chicken scratch, I knew I had to eliminate teaching as a potential profession. If only I’d known that dry erase boards would become ubiquitous and my poor chalkboard penmanship wouldn’t be so detrimental after all. Now even chalkboard challenged people can teach.
Finally, someone, Idea Paint, has invented a dry erase board that you can paint anywhere. Yes, that’s not a typo. You can paint a white board on to any wall in any shape. No more boring square industrial, corporate boards. You can paint clouds, hippos, triangles, whatever shape you can make with painters tape. The company is called Idea Paint. It was started by some intrepid college students from Babson. It comes in eight colors, including standard white. We found them, where else, through Daily Grommet — which by now I hope you realize should be your first stop when looking for solutions to vexxing problems.
You can have whatever size of white board that you want, wherever you want it — in the kitchen, perhaps an entire door, or even an entire wall or room. The latter seems like something Funs, Organic Freedoms and Smart Freedoms would do. Besides being easier to write on, dry erase boards are also less messy than chalkboards, easier to wipe clean. I wonder if a teacher could transform her chalkboard into a white board? I better ask Idea Paint or join the Daily Grommet discussion. Oooh they did and I learned that the CIA uses this paint. Interesting …
Price ranges from $29.99 for 6 sq. ft., $99 for 25 sq. ft. to $175 for 50 sq. ft. and it comes with a 5-year guarantee. I’d imagine Classics, Organic Structures and Smart Structures would go for the 6 sq. ft and then everyone else might splurge and paint a visionary dry erase wall/room or something like it for $175. Once we get a bigger office, I know it’s only a matter of time until Katie, Organic Freedom extraordinaire, demands we paint an entire room with this stuff for brainstorming sessions … and it’s such a neat idea, I might just say, “Yes.”
