Recycle and Donate — Everything

So. I really thought we had already done a week about WHERE to put all your junk, ahem, I mean unused items after Spring Cleaning. But I guess it was just a good idea whose time has finally come.

Every Spring magazines have a helpful list of where to put all the stuff you want to get rid of. I see these lists and get kind of nauseous. Ugh, I have to go to 30 different places to properly dispose/recycle my stuff? Are you crazy? Sigh. But as an Organic Freedom, I am not detail oriented and since I feel the need to do it perfectly, I’d spend two days driving around the city taking all that useless crap, ahem, sorry I mean stuff that is not longer useful to the people getting rid of it.

Wait. This is exactly what Kelly and I used to do when we were full time organizers. We would let our clients choose where to donate/recycle their stuff. And it only took us about two days of literally driving around the city to stop the madness. We found that the charities that took more kinds of stuff, would get most of our things.

So here are our favorite charities that take the widest array of stuff.

Goodwill

Salvation Army

Housing Works
