Hairstory New Wash Shampoo
Hairstory Oil Shampoo

When I told my 13 year old about this new fabulous “shampoo” that her Aunt Kelly had gotten me for my birthday, Hairstory, she was quite skeptical, and has still not been persuaded because as a new teen-ager, she can only see oil as the enemy. But I’ve been using oil as a moisturizer for a while now as my hair has been getting dryer and grayer and less silky without tons of product and drying time, I was game to try anything. And then Kelly gave it to me for my birthday!

The results were fantastic. They say slather not lather, and if you’ve got long hair comb it through. No problems, and when I rinsed it felt squeaky clean and conditioned. Not only do you not need to use a conditioner, I didn’t even need to use any smoothing product. I also didn’t blow dry or encourage it to wave by twisting my hair into Princess Leia buns. Not bad for an everyday look. And when I do blow dry it or curl it, it looks even better and it feels silky and strong.

Renpure Mint Cleansing ShampooNow before you go thinking Kelly got me a five dollar birthday present, think again. This stuff costs $4o bucks. And yeah, so you don’t need a conditioner, but still, my days of buying $20 dollar bottles of shampoo ended when I didn’t notice a difference between drug store brands and the salon stuff. And that “slather not lather” thing seems like a bit of a con to get you to buy more.

But my hair looked so good! And I didn’t have to repeat and rinse and then condition. Saving time and looking good. So even though most Organics or Smarts would have moved on, I pushed my natural preferences and channelled my Fun and Classic thrifty sisters and found an alternative that smells the same and works just the same and only costs $10 bucks a bottle. That’s doable. And I found it at Rite Aid to boot! It’s called Renpure.
