Water Boarding Remedies?
So, I know it sounds medieval, but when the humidity leaves our climate, the best way to stave off the germs is to artificially raise the water levels. Humidifiers work, so do nasal saline sprays, but once you’re sick, nothing helps like a good neti pot, or the, gulp, Grossan Irrigator.
As long as you put some kosher salt in the water, the “ph” balance becomes right for our noses, and the neti pot is a great way to keep our noses moist and free of dirt and other irritants. When we get colds, a neti pot keeps the mucus flowing.
When you have a bad sinus invasion the Grossan Irrigator is a better bet as its gently pulsing mechanism actually gets into the sinuses, whereas the neti pot just goes through the nose. Now who is going to use these things? The neti pot is considered an alternative method that will probably appeal most to Funs. Organics and Smarts might try it, especially if someone recommends it (scientific proof needed for the Smarts) but the freedom counterparts will get tired of the routine if they don’t see results. Can’t see a Classic doing this unless its doctor prescribed. (Which is how I, an Organic Freedom, got started on this thing, and still use it when am really sick.)
I know its not fun to talk about, and it’s even worse to witness someone using a Grossan Irrigator as many of my family members can attest (Yes. This is Kelly, an avowed Classic. It’s so nasty to watch Kate use this thing and she talks about this all of the time when she’s sick – if only I had a dime for every time she talked about her freaking nasal passages. I just take Dayquil, drinks lots of water & get on with my life.), but there’s nothing like cleaning out your sinuses when you have a cold and these are the tools to do it.
Happy Friday (Stay well!)
Best for Funs, Organics & maybe Smarts
